Screen to Screen
You are going to view LEFT side and Microsoft Word on your screen at the same time but, first:
o Close all other open applications except LEFT side
o If the How To Task Pane is displayed on the right of the Left side and Exercises document, click the Hide button to close it
Then:
1 Reduce, Move Resize LEFT side window
Reduce
In the right corner of the blue Title Bar at the top of the window, click the middle (Restore Down) button
Move
o Place mouse anywhere on the blue Title Bar
o Click and hold down mouse and move window into top left corner of screen
Resize
o Place mouse in bottom right corner of window and hover there until a two-headed, diagonal arrow appears
o Click and hold down mouse and move it down and across to resize window to fill LEFT two-thirds of screen
2 OPEN Microsoft Word
o If the New Document Task Pane is displayed on the right, click the x button to close it
o Change the Font Size to 20. It's more exciting to see the words you type in large font
Then:
Reduce Move Resize Move Microsoft Word window
Reduce
In the right corner of the blue Title Bar at the top of the window, click the middle (Restore Down) button
Move
o Place mouse anywhere on the blue Title Bar
o Click and hold down mouse and move window to TOP of screen
Resize
o Place mouse in bottom right corner of window and hover there until a two-headed, diagonal arrow appears
o Click and hold down mouse and move it down and across to resize window to fill one-third of screen
Move
o Place mouse anywhere on the blue Title Bar
o Click and hold down mouse and move window to RIGHT of LEFT side window. It doesn't matter if part of Microsoft Word window is off your screen (Microsoft Word scrolls as you type), but it is IMPORTANT that you can see LEFT side right scroll bar
4 Get Started
o Read the instructions in LEFT side and, then, click in Microsoft Word window to activate it and start typing
o When you reach page 27 (LEFT side Exercise 1), if you can't see all the words across the screen, remove the white left margin by scrolling to the right, using the bottom scroll bar
To return a window to full size,
on blue Title Bar, click the middle (now Maximize) button
